If You Could Make Anything Grow on a Tree, What Would It Be?

Wise Women Chronicles

If I Could Make Anything Grow on a Tree,
It Would Be…

The Seeds of Change

Anyone can reach out to this tree, at any time.
All they need do is desire change, trust, put out their hand
and the seed they most need,
the one that is for their highest good,
will drop into their hands.

The seed is not identified.
It is revealed only after it is planted and begins to grow.
If the person continues to be open, the Seed’s message will be revealed
as it takes its form.

Someone who only sees life in black or white, wrong or right,
their Seed of Change will become a flower in magnificent shades of grey.
Someone who believes they have no worth,
their Seed becomes a flower whose beauty is beyond price.
Someone who is ostentatious and constantly seeks attention,
their Seed becomes a simple weed.

A prickly person grows thorny cactus.
An impatient person grows a century plant.
A person with no boundaries grows invasive spearmint.
A person who lives within strict boundaries grows peppermint.
A person afraid to leave home grows kudzu that travels over hill and dale.

A quiet person grows vibrant trumpet vine.
A person afraid of sex grows calla lilies or red hot poker.
A person with a fiery sharp tongue grows a soothing aloe vera plant.
A loud person grows quiet clover.

A greedy person grows one lily which blooms for only a day.
A generous person grows an overflowing edible garden.
A person unwilling to eat vegetables grows only vegetables.
A timid person grows gigantic hibiscus flowers.

A healer grows deadly plants.
A murderer grows healing plants.
A gossip grows poison ivy.
A bully grows delicate lily of the valley.
A dreamer grows grass.

Be warned.
You cannot have someone else plant or tend your garden.
A miser cannot hire a generous soul to plant their garden.
Nothing will grow until the hand that chose the Seed
plants and tends that Seed.

Most times these Seeds are meant only for the person who chose them.
Sometimes, the story of certain Seeds blooms beyond the original receiver
and travels through time and space to those who are ready to hear.

A Seed planted by a lazy and cowardly boy sprouts into a giant beanstalk
in order for the boy to find his fortune and his courage.

A Seed planted by a Queen to honor her daughter’s birth becomes an apple tree
whose fruit can be poisoned by jealousy and cured by true love’s kiss.

A Seed planted by a young bridegroom who becomes a lonely, childless widower,
becomes an oak tree whose branches are shaped into a beloved wooden boy.

A Seed planted by an old woman becomes a ginger root which is added to cookie dough
then shaped into a boy who discovers the joys and perils of running away from home.

A Seed planted by a mother grows into oats, also made into cookie dough,
is sent with a red hooded daughter who is warned to stay on the path and not reveal
too much to strangers, lest she meet a wolf.

A Seed planted by a lonely woman becomes a bewitched radish
and entraps a pregnant woman to trade its taste for her unborn daughter
whose hair grows long and luxurious.

A Seed planted by a young girl in memory of her dead mother
and watered by her tears bears three dresses of silver and gold
designed to catch the eye of a dashing dancing prince.

A Seed planted by a family of bears who make peas porridge
that is too hot, too cold and just right for a golden haired girl
who learns about breaking and entering.

Each day, new Seeds appear on this Tree of Life.
Which Seed of Change will choose you?
What will you grow in your garden?
Close your eyes, trust, and hold out your hand.

How Do You Use Your Green Thumb or Personal Magic?

Wise Women Chronicles

How Do I Use My Green Thumb or Personal Magic? I DO have a green thumb.  For decades I used it to nurture and grow indoor plants and outside gardens.  I even had a Plant Doctor business for a while, before kids. Is it magical? It is if you believe that Science is simply Magic Explained. The Secret to Successful Gardening is: Read, research, take classes, observe successful gardens first. Learn everything you can BEFORE you plant and always be willing to learn more. Prepare your soil properly. Choose plants that “call to you” and require as much or as little care as you want to put into them. Plant your plants in the right place at the right time. Consistently water, feed, prune and most of all, love them. Put your garden to bed when it’s time and trust they will rebloom when it is their time. The Secret … Continue reading →
